The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the bright morning hours, 1 And by the Night when it is still,- 2 Your Lord has not forsaken you nor does He dislike you! 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 Did He not find you wandering, and give you guidance? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 As for the orphan, do not oppress him, 9 and him that seeks [thy] help shalt thou never chide, 10 And proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophethood and all other Graces). 11
