And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order." 90 They said, “We will continue to squat* before it, till Moosa returns to us.” (* Continue worshipping it.) 91 Moses said to Aaron, "What prevented you, when you saw that they had gone astray, 92 From coming after me? Did you not disobey my command?" (And Moses pulled him by the hair). 93 'Son of my mother' he replied, 'Do not seize my beard nor my head. I was afraid that you might say: "You have divided the Children of Israel and did not uphold my word." 94 Moses asked, "Samiri, what were your motives?" 95 (Samiri) said: "I saw what they saw not, so I took a handful (of dust) from the hoof print of the messenger [Jibrael's (Gabriel) horse] and threw it [into the fire in which were put the ornaments of the Fir'aun's (Pharaoh) people, or into the calf]. Thus my inner-self suggested to me." 96 [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. 97 Your God is only Allah, the One other than whom there is no god. He comprehendeth everything in knowledge. 98 So We relate to thee stories of what has gone before, and We have given thee a remembrance from Us. 99 Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden on the day of resurrection 100 As abiders therein. And vile will it be for them on the Day of Judgment as a load! 101 the Day when the Trumpet shall be sounded and We shall muster the sinners, their eyes turned blue with terror. 102 Whispering secretly among themselves, “You have not stayed on earth but for ten days.” 103 We know very well what they will say, when the justest of them in the way will say, 'You have tarried only a day.' 104
