Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Faithful Spirit has descended with it, 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 in the clear Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 But [even] had We bestowed it from on high upon any of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had read it unto them, even then they would not have been believers therein. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 and then Our torment will strike them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 for a reminder; and never did We wrong. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 they are not supposed to do so. Nor do have they the ability for such a task. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So do not call upon another god with Allah, lest you should be one of those who are punished. 213 And admonish thy nearest kinsmen, 214 And be kind and humble to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say: 'I am quit of what you do' 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 Who observes you when you rise (to pray) 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
