Hizb 46

Jonah too was one of the messengers. 139 When he left towards the laden ship. 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 he would indeed have remained in its belly till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 144 ۞ but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick, 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Verily, it is of their falsehood that they (Quraish pagans) say: 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin]. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire. 163 None of us is there, but has a known station; 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah." 166 They used to say: 167 'If only we had a reminder from the ancients, 168 we would have been sincere worshipers of Allah' 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 And, verily, Our Word has gone forth of old for Our slaves, the Messengers, 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn thou aside from them for a season. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 And turn away from them till a time 178 and watch. They, too, will watch. 179 Glory to thy Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they ascribe (to Him)! 180 And Peace on the messengers! 181 And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
