The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ WHEN WHAT IS to happen comes to pass -- 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 When the earth will tremble, shivering. 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few of those of later time. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 facing one another. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets, jugs and cups of crystal clear wine 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And [with them will be their] companions pure, most beautiful of eye, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 As for the People on the Right, how fortunate shall be the people on the Right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and spreading shade 30 and gushing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And raised couches. 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 and made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 like of age for the Companions of the Right. 38
