The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what crime she was killed; 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Where then are you going? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
