O Ye apostles! eat the good things and work righteously; verily of that which ye work I am the Knower. 51 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 Yet they divided themselves into factions, each rejoicing in what they had. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 And they who do not associate anything with their Lord 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. 62 Aye! their hearts are in bewilderment in respect thereof, and they have works beside that, of which they are workers. 63 But when We seize with the punishment those of them that live in ease, they groan. 64 (It will be said): "Groan not in supplication this day: for ye shall certainly not be helped by Us. 65 My revelations were recited to you, but you turned your backs 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Have they not pondered the matter, or did that come to them, which did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad) 69 Or they say, “He is afflicted by a demon”; in fact he brought the Truth to them, and most of them dislike the Truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or dost thou [O Muhammad] ask of them any worldly recompense? But [they ought to know that] recompense from thy Sustainer is best, since He is the best of providers! 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 but those who do not believe in the Hereafter are ever prone to deviate from the Right Way. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 We had seized them with the punishment, but they did not bow before their Lord nor turned to Him in humility, 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
