Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book 2 We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 So shall We divert the advice away from you, because you are a nation that exceeds the limits? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the earlier peoples! 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them). 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 That ye may mount upon their backs, and may remember your Lord's favour when ye mount thereon, and may say: Glorified be He Who hath subdued these unto us, and we were not capable (of subduing them); 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
