The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure, 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 and weigh with justice, and skimp not in the Balance.) 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
