The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
