Is it not plain to those who inherit the earth after its inhabitants that if We willed We could smite them for their sins and set a seal upon their hearts, so that they do not hear. 100 Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith. 101 We did not find many of them faithful to their promises, and found many of them disobedient. 102 Then We sent, after them, Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his Council, but they did them wrong; so behold thou, how was the end of the workers of corruption! 103 Moses told the Pharaoh, "I am a Messengers from the Lord of the Universe. 104 And it behoves me to say nothing about Allah except what is true. I have come to you with a clear sign of having been sent from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.' 105 He said: If you have come with a sign, then bring it, if you are of the truthful ones. 106 So he threw his rod, then lo! it was a clear serpent. 107 And putting his hand in his bosom, withdrew it – so it shone brightly before the beholders. 108
