The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 thy robes purify 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Again, death seized him, how was his determining! 20 He looked (at others); 21 Then frowned he and showed displeasure. 22 Then he turned back and was big with pride, 23 Then he said: "This is nothing but magic from that of old; 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 I shall make him suffer the torment of hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 Darkening and changing the colour of man! 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
