The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Concerning which they are in disagreement. 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night a cover. 10 and made the day for earning a livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 Surely a time is fixed for the Day of Judgement. 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 The rebels' abode, 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 So taste (the fruit of your deeds). We shall only increase your torment. 30
