The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 by the night swarming, 17 And the breath of morning 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
