We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 Said he, 'I would never bow myself before a mortal whom Thou hast created of a clay of mud moulded.' 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 A curse shall be on you till the Day of Recompense' 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 Till the Day of appointed time. 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 “Except those among them who are Your chosen bondmen.” 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44
