And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Even then they say: 34 'There is nothing but our first death; we shall not be revived. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better, or the people of Tubba? And those who were before them? We destroyed them; they were indeed criminals. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 The day when friend will help no friend in the least, nor will they be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
