The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 Verily, We have created man from Nutfah drops of mixed semen (discharge of man and woman), in order to try him, so We made him hearer, seer. 2 Surely We showed him the Right Path, regardless of whether he chooses to be thankful or unthankful (to his Lord). 3 For the unbelievers, We have kept ready chains and fetters and a Blazing Fire. 4 Surely the pious shall drink of a cup whose mixture is camphor, 5 which flows from a spring from which the servants of God will drink. 6 They perform (their) vows, and they fear a Day whose evil flies far and wide. 7 And they feed with food, for love of Him, the needy, and the orphan and the captive. 8 (saying): 'We feed you only desirous of the Face of Allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, 9 we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that day, and gave them freshness and joy. 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 Reclining upon couches, they will find therein neither the heat of the sun nor bitter, biting cold, 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 And they will be waited upon with vessels of silver and goblets that will [seem to] be crystal 15 And crystal clear bottles of silver, of which they will determine the measure themselves. 16 And they shall be made to drink therein a cup the admixture of which shall be ginger, 17 (The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ There wait on them immortal youths, whom, when thou seest, thou wouldst take for scattered pearls. 19 when thou seest them then thou seest bliss and a great kingdom. 20 Their raiment will be fine green silk and gold embroidery. Bracelets of silver will they wear. Their Lord will slake their thirst with a pure drink. 21 [And they will be told:] "Verily, all this is your reward since Your endeavour [in life] has met [God's] goodly acceptance!" 22
