The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ OF WHAT ARE they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made sleep for you to rest, 9 The night a covering, 10 And the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 that We may bring forth thereby grain and plants, 15 And gardens of entwined growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 And the heavens shall be opened as if there were doors, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Hell will lie in wait (for its prey). 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a fitting requital, 26 For verily, they used not to look for a reckoning. 27 And called Our communications a lie, giving the lie (to the truth). 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
