Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 toiling [under burdens of sin,] worn out [by fear,] 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Other) faces, that Day, will be joyful, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 with a flowing spring, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
