And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 then the angels all prostrated themselves together. 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 He said, “My Lord! Grant me respite till the day when they will all be raised.” 36 He answered: 'You are among those reprieved 37 unto the day of a known time.' 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
