Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
HAS THERE COME unto thee the tiding of the Overshadowing Event? 1 Some faces that Day shall be downcast with fear, 2 labouring, weary, 3 The while they enter the Blazing Fire,- 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 they shall have no food but thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 where they will hear no idle talk, 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 and couches raised high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and arranged cushions 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
