The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 who give charity, 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 Thereafter you will certainly die 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And certainly We made above you seven heavens; and never are We heedless of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 We have produced palm-groves and vineyards for you, in which there are abundant fruits for you; and you eat these, 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And verily in the cattle for you is a lesson. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are advantages many, and of them ye eat. 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
