The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
