We did indeed send Noah to his people and he lived among them a thousand years save fifty. Eventually the Flood overtook them while they were engaged in wrongdoing. 14 And We rescued him and the people aboard the ship, and made the ship a sign for the entire world. 15 And Abraham, [too, was inspired by Us] when he said unto his people: "Worship God, and be conscious of Him: this is the best for you, if you but knew it! 16 You only worship, other than Allah, idols and invent falsehoods. Those whom you worship, other than Allah, have no power to give you provision. Therefore seek the provision of Allah, and worship Him. Give thanks to Him, to Him you shall return' 17 But if you deny, then many a people have denied before you. The duty of the apostle is to convey the message clearly." 18 Do they not see how Allah originates the Creation, and then brings it back? That is an easy matter for Allah. 19 (Muhammad), say to them, "Travel through the land and see how He has begun the creation and how He will invent the next life. God has power over all things. 20 He punishes or grants mercy to whomever He wants and to Him you will all return. 21 You cannot challenge God in the heavens or in the earth. No one besides God is your guardian or helper. 22
