He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because a blind man came to him. 2 And what would make you know that he would purify himself, 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 As for he who is sufficed 5 To him you attend; 6 although thou art not accountable for his failure to attain to purity; 7 But as to him who came to thee striving earnestly, 8 And hath fear, 9 You neglect. 10 Nay! surely it is an admonishment. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (This Quran) is also recorded in honorable books, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 [Carried] by the hands of messenger-angels, 15 noble and most virtuous. 16 Perish man! how ungrateful he is! 17 From what substance did He create him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 Then gave him death, so had him put in the grave. 21 then, He will raise him when He wills. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Then let man look at his food, 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle), 28 Olives and dates, 29 Orchards thick with trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 as provision for you and for your cattle to enjoy. 32 But when the deafening blast is sounded, 33 On the Day a man will flee from his brother 34 And from his mother and his father, 35 his consort, his sons, 36 For every man, that Day, will be a matter adequate for him. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And faces on that Day! upon them shall be gloom. 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 These will be the faces of the sinful disbelievers. 42
