The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
