And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 trustworthy divine inspiration has alighted with it from on high 193 Upon your heart (O Muhammad SAW) that you may be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 Had We revealed it to a man of obscure tongue 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 who will not believe in it, until they see the painful chastisement 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 And then what they were promised comes upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 By way of reminder, and We have never been unjust. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 It would neither suit them nor would they be able (to produce it). 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you (of him) upon whom the Shaitans descend? 221 They descend upon every lying, sinful one, 222 who readily lend ear [to every falsehood,] and most of whom lie to others as well. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
