(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
