The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So respite the unbelievers; delay with them awhile. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
