The Sun (Al-Shams)
15 verses, revealed in Mecca after Destiny (Al-Qadr) before The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sun and his morning brightness 1 and by the moon as it follows it, 2 Consider the day as it reveals the world, 3 and by the night as it envelopes the sun; 4 And the heaven and Him Who built it, 5 and by the earth and That which extended it! 6 By the soul, and That which shaped it 7 And inspired it (with conscience of) what is wrong for it and (what is) right for it. 8 Surely blissful is he who hath cleansed it, 9 and failed has he who seduces it. 10 Thamood belied in their pride 11 when the most wicked of them broke forth, 12 Then Allah's Messenger warned them: “Hands off the she-camel and her drink!” 13 Then they belied him and they hamstrung her; wherefore their Lord overwhelmed them for their crime, and made it equal. 14 He does not fear the result (of their destruction). 15
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
