Surely We created man of a clay of mud moulded, 26 whereas the invisible beings We had created, [long] before that, out of the fire of scorching winds. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 [Allah] said, O Iblees, what is [the matter] with you that you are not with those who prostrate?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 "Till the Day of the Time appointed." 38 Iblis said, "Lord, because you have caused me to go astray, I shall make earthly things attractive to (people) and mislead all of them 39 excepting those Thy servants among them that are devoted. 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
