The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 And keep your duty unto Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old. 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 and a mere mortal like us. We think you are a liar. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: My Lord is Best Aware of what ye do. 188 In response they denied him – therefore the punishment of the day of the tent* seized them; that was indeed a punishment of a Great Day. (The clouds formed a tent and rained fire upon them). 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
