The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls are paired 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the books are spread, 10 And when the sky is torn away, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the breath of morning 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
