Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Until you confronted the graves. 2 But you will soon come to know. 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 You will be shown hell 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, you will be questioned about the bounties (of God). 8
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
