The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 What shall let you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 in towering columns. 9

Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
