And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Stretch not thine eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy; and do not sorrow for them, and lower thy wing unto the believers, 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 About what they used to do. 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 And serve thy Lord until there come unto thee the Hour that is Certain. 99
