The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 pay their religious tax 4 and guard their private parts 5 except with their spouses and slave-girls. The practice of carnal relations is lawful with them. 6 But those whose desires exceed those limits are transgressors;- 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who are watchful of their acts of prayer. 9 and who are steadfast in their prayer. 10 Those who will get the inheritance of Paradise; they will abide in it forever. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 And We send down water from the cloud according to a measure, then We cause it to settle in the earth, and most surely We are able to carry it away. 18 We have established for you gardens of palm trees and vineyards with this water with many fruits for you to consume. 19 And We also produced the tree which springs forth from Mount Sinai, containing oil and sauce for those that eat. 20 And behold, in the cattle [too] there is indeed a lesson for you: We give you to drink of that [milk] which is within their bellies; and you derive many [other] uses from them: for, you eat of their flesh, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
