The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We delivered him and his followers all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
