We sent Noah to his people and he lived with them for nine hundred and fifty years, then the flood engulfed them for their injustice. 14 But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it a sign for the worlds. 15 And (remember) Abraham. When he said to his people 'Worship Allah and fear Him. That would be best for you, if you but knew. 16 Those that you worship instead of Allah are merely idols, and you are simply inventing lies (about them). Indeed those whom you worship beside Allah have no power to provide you with any sustenance. So seek your sustenance from Allah and serve only Him and give thanks to Him alone. It is to Him that you will be sent back. 17 'But if you cry me lies, nations cried lies before you; and it is only for the Messenger to deliver the Manifest Message.' 18 Are then they [who deny the truth] not aware of how God creates [life] in the first instance, and then brings it forth anew? This, verily, is easy for God! 19 Tell them, "Roam the earth and see how He originated creation. Then God will bring into being your second life. God has power over all things. 20 He punishes whom He will and shows mercy to whom He pleases. And to Him you shall be returned. 21 and never - not on earth and not in the skies - can you [hope to] elude Him: and you have none to protect you from God, and none to bring you succour." 22
