Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 When he fled on the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and was of the rebutted, 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been of them who glorify Allah, 143 he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised; 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore in a state of sickness, 145 And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, whrefore We let them enjoy life for a season. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 " Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 “So do you not ponder?” 155 Do you have any clear authority for such claims? 156 “Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!” 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 except for he who shall roast in Hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 And most surely we are they who draw themselves out in ranks, 165 We glorify God." 166 They used to say: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 then were we God's sincere servants.' 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That they would be helped, 172 And verily Our host! they are to be overcome. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
