Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 [inflicted on them] by Pharaoh, seeing that he was truly outstanding among those who waste their own selves; 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Verily these! they say: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We did not idly create the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them; 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except such as receive Allah's Mercy: for He is Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 42
