Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 I wish death had put an end to me. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 “All my power has vanished.” 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 nor any food except foul pus 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
