Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 saying, "Serve God, and fear Him, and obey you me, 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 But my call has only made them flee the more: 6 And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride. 7 I called to them clearly, 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 then He shall return you into it, and bring you forth. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20
