The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is shrouded in darkness, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
