The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
