Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are revelations of the wise Scripture, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 who establish Prayer and pay Zakah, and have firm faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who follow the guidance [that comes to them] from their Sustainer; and it is they, they who shall attain to a happy state! 5 And some people buy words of play, in order to mislead from Allah’s path, without knowledge; and to make it an article of mockery; for them is a disgraceful punishment. 6 And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement. 7 Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. 8 To abide therein. It is a Promise of Allah in truth. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. 9 He created the heavens without pillars you can see, and He cast on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake with you, and He scattered abroad in it all manner of crawling thing. And We sent down out of heaven water, and caused to grow in it of every generous kind. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
