And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he ran to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was condemned: 141 Then a (big) fish swallowed him and he had done an act worthy of blame. 142 Now had he not been of those that glorify God, 143 He would have stayed in its belly till the day the dead are raised. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a desert shore while he was sick; 145 And We caused to grow over him a tree, a gourd. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 Now ask them (O Muhammad): Hath thy Lord daughters whereas they have sons? 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How do you decide? 154 Will you not then mind? 155 Or is there for you a plain authority? 156 Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 you shall tempt none against Him 162 unless it be such as rushes towards the blazing fire [of his own accord]! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 we are the rangers, 165 “And indeed we are those who say His purity.” 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 We would certainly have been the servants of Allah-- the purified ones. 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 and that it is Our host that would certainly triumph. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them (how they fare), and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. 182

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
