Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And sent them tokens to bring out the best in them. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals. 37 It was not in idle sport that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Verily the Day of Distinction is the term appointed for all of them. 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 Apart from those to whom God is kind. He is all-mighty and all-merciful. 42
