The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 has taught the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
