▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
And for one who fears to stand before his Lord, are two Gardens. 46 which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 47 These Gardens will abound in green, blooming branches. 48 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 49 With two springs of water flowing through them both. -- 50 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 51 In them (both) will be every kind of fruit in pairs. 52 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 53 [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low. 54 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 55 therein maidens restraining their glances, untouched before them by any man or jinn -- 56 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 57 (In beauty) like the jacynth and the coral-stone. 58 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 59 Is the reward of goodness aught save goodness? 60 Which of the laudable attributes of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 61 Besides this, there will be two other gardens. 62 which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 63 Dark green with foliage. 64 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 65 In both of them are two springs gushing forth. 66 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 67 In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates: 68 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 69 In them shall be good and pleasing. 70 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 71 Houris (beautiful, fair females) restrained in pavilions; 72 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? -- 73 Whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them. 74 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 75 Reclining on green cushions and fine carpets. 76 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 77 HALLOWED be thy Sustainer's name, full of majesty and glory! 78
